During three trips to Macedonia and Kosovo between April 1999 and July 2000, Ruga, Ward, and Ayotte record images and stories of people who lived through ten years of Serb oppression followed by 78 days of a NATO air war. Now Kosovo is struggling to survive as the economy falters, the long-term political status of the province remains unresolved, and abuses against minorities increase. Individuals speak out about their fears, hopes, and desires for the future, providing powerful portraits of a nation scarred by ethnic violence working toward peace.

The exhibit has been designed for college and university galleries, public libraries, art galleries, and other exhibition spaces interested in exploring political themes through the visual media.
